How to find your Ohio, federal tax refund status

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Tax season is here and Ohioans will be looking to discover when they can receive their refunds. Luckily, there are two easy ways to see when you can get your Ohio income tax and federal tax refunds.

For your state income tax, click here and you’ll be taken to this page on the Ohio government website.

On this page, click the blue button that says “Launch, Check your income tax refund status.” and you’ll be taken to this page below. You will then need to enter your social security number, if the account you are searching for is individual income or school district income, your requested refund amount and what tax year it is.

After entering that information, you will receive your refund status and further steps after that should you encounter any issues.

For your federal tax filing, the Internal Revenue Service has a webpage to go through a similar process. You can find it by clicking here.

Once you land on this page, enter your SSN, tax year, filing status, and refund amount and click submit to check your federal refund status. Filing season began Monday and the deadline to file a 2023 tax return is April 15.
