Ohio Department of Transportation releases its list of projects for Guernsey County

JACKSONTOWN − The Ohio Department of Transportation is kicking off a record construction season, investing $2.8 billion into 950 road and bridge improvement projects across the state. Many of these projects are in District 5, which includes Coshocton, Guernsey, Muskingum and Perry counties.

Here are the projects for Guernsey County:

● Ohio 209 bridge replacement will begin in May and is expected to be completed in October. The project costs $13.4 million.

● Rehab of the Eighth Street (County Road 33) bridge over Wills Creek will begin in May and should be completed in October. The project costs $669,000.

● Resurfacing and related work on I-70 between Ohio 723 and east of the County Road 73 overpass is set to start in July and be wrapped up in November. The project costs $4 million and motorists can expect lane restrictions.

● Resurfacing and related work along Pennyroyal Road (County Road 95) between the Village of Fairview to McCoy Road will begin in June with a completion date of October. The project cost $1.3 million and motorists can expect lane restrictions.

● The Interstate 70 bridge rehab, east of I-70 and Ohio 83 over County Road 44, will begin this month and is projected to be completed in December. The project costs $1.4 million and motorist should expect lane restrictions.

● Maintenance and minor repairs Salt Fork State Park roads is scheduled for August with a completion date of November. The project costs $100,000 and lane restrictions will impact traffic.

● Widening shoulders along various county highways, which started earlier this year, is expected to be completed in November. The project costs $1.3 million and motorists will continue to encounter lane restrictions

● County Road 33 bridge replacement over Sarchett Run, north of Barnes Hill Road, began this month and is set to be completed in October. The project costs $812,000.
