Officials suspend license of Delaware pediatrician accused of 'waterboarding' daughter

DOVER, Del. - The attorney for a Delaware pediatrician whose daughter told investigators he "waterboarded" her says the charge is being exaggerated.

Dr. Melvin Morse and his wife, Pauline, face several felony counts after their 11-year-old daughter told authorities he held her face under a running faucet.

Morse is known for researching near-death experiences and has appeared on national TV in the past, including Larry King and Oprah.

Attorney Joe Hurley says that whatever the allegations describe isn't waterboarding and calls the claim from authorities an "attention-getter."

Morse was already out on bail on misdemeanour charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child when he was arrested on the most recent charges.
