This is officially Britain's favourite 'Friends' character

LONDON — Few debates have incited such divisiveness as this, and no, we speak not of the upcoming U.S. election nor the fierce dispute over Brexit.

The greatest debate of our time began in the 20th century and still rages into the 21st, and it is this: 

Which Friends character is best? 

As part of its FriendsFest event to celebrate the iconic television show, Comedy Central UK conducted a poll over the course of several weeks in hopes of procuring an answer to this weighty question in the British context.

Comedy Central asked fans to cast their vote via Twitter with the hashtag #VoteChandler, #VotePhoebe, and so on and so forth, and according to their findings, the winner is...

That's right, the adorkable paleontologist Ross Geller as played by David Schwimmer nabbed 25.6% of the vote to become the UK's favourite friend. 

Ross was closely followed by Chandler Bing with Joey taking third place. The girls finished in the bottom half with Phoebe, Rachel and Monica, taking 4th, 5th, and 6th place, respectively. 

The results of the vote were not met without controversy, although there doesn't seem to be a clear consensus as to who the favourite friend should have been:
