After trying hard enough to get it, his city will host Super Bowl LIII, the league officially announced yesterday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Other upcoming Super Bowl venues were listed by the ESPN expert:
Super Bowl LI (2017) – Hou
Super Bowl LII (2018) – Minn
Super Bowl LIII (2019) – Atl
Super Bowl LIV (2020) – SoFla
Super Bowl LV (2021) – LA— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) May 24, 2016
This is obviously great news for the city of Atlanta. Blank had been working tirelessly to see his team get the chance of playing in the Super Bowl in their own stadium, and they will get the opportunity.
It was just last week when The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s D. Orlando Ledbetter brought up how Blank “felt good” about the team’s chances of hosting the big game. Blank had the right to feel such a way, as he pointed out why it made sense for Atlanta to host it:
“The list goes on and on and it’s walk-able. Which some of the Super Bowls are not. To a lot of the owners, to their fans and fans of the NFL being walk-able (is important.) Having 10,000 (hotel) rooms within a half mile of our stadium is a major plus. I feel good about this.”
Atlanta also hosted Super Bowl XXVII in 1994, when the Dallas Cowboys topped the Buffalo Bills. Super Bowl XXXIV was also played in Georgia (2000,) a year after the Falcons had lost to the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl prior.
The Falcons are a team that’s on the rise with a boatload of talent. It’s unlikely they seriously compete for a Super Bowl in 2016, but within the next few seasons, they could be an elite squad.
So who knows, but maybe Atlanta will end up playing in the Super Bowl the year they host it.
