Odessan accused of sexually assaulting 15-year-old girl

May 2—A 20-year-old Odessa man was arrested Tuesday after a 15-year-old girl told authorities he gave her vodka and forced himself on her.

According to an Ector County Sheriff's Office report, deputies were dispatched to Medical Center Hospital on April 27 about a sexual assault and met with the the girl and her mother.

The girl told investigators Cesar Almanza Herrera, 20, picked up she and her friend (his cousin) from school and went to Herrera's house where he served them Smirnoff, the report stated.

The girl said sometime later, Herrera dropped his cousin off at the cousin's home. On the way to her home, she said he pulled over in the 500 block of Fortune 500, got into the backseat of the vehicle with her and penetrated her with his fingers without her consent and causing her to bleed, the report stated.

When interviewed, Herrera admitted to everything, the report stated.

Herrera was booked into the Ector County jail on suspicion of furnishing alcohol to a minor and sexual assault of a minor. He remained in custody Thursday on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold and surety bonds totaling $52,500.
