Russian attack on southern Ukraine

An air raid alert was declared in several Ukrainian oblasts due to the threat of a new Russian attack overnight on April 9-10. Russia launched several waves of Shahed suicide drones at southern Ukraine, and a missile strike was launched on Odesa. Air defense forces destroyed 14 of the 17 Shahed UAVs and two X-59 guided missiles.

The Russian military attacked Odesa Oblast again on the morning of the same day, using various types of missiles.

Ukrainian national power company Ukrenergo stated that the attack targeted Ukraine’s power grid. In particular, the Russian strike damaged equipment as an Ukrenergo substation, necessitating emergency blackouts in Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts.
