The first Fan Expo Boston was held in 2007 when it was known as Boston Comic Con. It began as a small gathering of about 900 people in a basement at the Back Bay Events Center and grew to become New England's biggest industry convention, where artists, vendors, anime, comic book and gaming aficionados come together to share their interests and passions.

The show runs 4 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, 415 Summer St., Boston. A single-day general admission ticket bought by July 28 costs $37. There are additional costs for backstage passes, photo ops and autographs.
