Obama 'Slow Jams' Student Loans with Jimmy Fallon

Barack Obama's appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon became more than just a campaign whistlestop last night when he joined Jimmy and The Roots for a old-fashioned slow jam.

If you're unfamiliar with "Slow Jammin' the News" concept, it's a long-running recurring gag on Fallon's show where he explains a big news story with the help of smooth beats from his house band and a handful of sexy double entendres about Greek debt or Occupy Wall Street. The bit usually involves comedy legend/NBC News anchor Brian Williams, but since Fallon was recording his show on the Chapel Hill campus of the University of North Carolina and he had the President of the United States already booked as his guest, it probably seemed liked a good time to croon about student loans.

It wasn't exactly Bill Clinton wailing on the sax with Arsenio Hall, but it's (thankfully) still a little jarring to see a sitting president take part in late night comedy skits. On the other hand, since we know about the President's considerable vocal skills, it's a bit of a waste to have just him doing the talking parts. Even the President of the United States still has some boundaries, we suppose.
