Obama: 'All of America' Thinking About Shooting Victims' Families

President Obama on Sunday told the families of the victims of Friday's theater shooting that he wanted them to know that "not only all of America but much of the world is thinking about them."
Obama arrived in Aurora, Colo., on Sunday afternoon both to visit with some of the families at the University of Colorado Hospital, where 23 of those injured in the shooting were treated, and to discuss the response with local, state and federal officials, the Associated Press reported.
"I come to them not so much as President as I do as a father and as a husband," Obama said. "And I think that the reason stories like this have such an impact on us is because we can all understand what it would be to have somebody that we love taken from us in this fashion."
Obama was greeted by Gov. John Hickenlooper, Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan, and Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates, among others, after Air Force One landed at the Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora.
He spent a few hours in Colorado, all in private events with the families and officials, before heading to California later on Sunday evening for previously scheduled campaign events on Monday.
