NYPD officers tried to pull over car before Bushwick hit-and-run: police

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Police officers were trying to conduct a traffic stop when a man sped through an intersection and hit two women in Bushwick on May 9, according to the NYPD.

One of the women, 71-year-old Juanita Vidal, was killed in the hit-and-run. Her 44-year-old daughter was critically injured, according to authorities.

The medical examiner ruled Vidal’s death a homicide.

The car involved in the hit-and-run was a rental, according to authorities. The driver fled the scene on foot after crashing into the two women and two parked cars.
