NYPD helicopter seen attempting water operation over Coney Island

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (PIX11) — An NYPD helicopter crew attempted a water rescue operation near a pier in Coney Island on Wednesday, video showed.

The video, shot from the pier, showed the helicopter lowering people into the water.

Police said a man, possibly in his 20s, jumped from the pier into the water around 2:42 p.m. It was unclear why the man jumped into the water. The dive operation concluded without finding the man.
