NYCHA offers job training and placement to residents

NEW YORK (PIX11) — The New York City Housing Authority offers a program to residents that gives opportunities for job training and placement in three career fields.

The program is called the NYCHA Resident Training Academy, or NRTA. It helps NYCHA residents land jobs in construction, maintenance, or janitorial fields. Once you successfully graduate from the NRTA, NYCHA’s Resident Economic Empowerment and Sustainability office will help with job placement assistance, according to the program’s website.

  • Must be 100% available during the work week to participate in full-time training activities
