NYC subway passenger reveals why he was angry with LeBron
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers decided to take the New York City subway to save time on Monday morning and most everyone got a good grin out of it.
The lone exception was the man sitting directly to James’ right. After noticing that he was being filmed, he tried to put an end to James’ documentary with the type of hand check that James easily avoids on the court each night.
“Can you not?” asked the man before James turned his camera elsewhere.

The reaction was so funny that it quickly became the most viral moment of the expedition. Did the man know who he was sitting next to? Or was he playing the role of typical New Yorker trying to travel without the hassle of interacting with any other human beings, even if they go by LeBron and Dwyane?
The answer was the latter.
After being informed by a few friends that his unknowing interaction with one of the world’s most famous humans had gone worldwide, James Michael Angelo took to his Facebook to tell his side of the story.
According to Angelo, James was “kind of a [expletive] about the whole thing.”
So this morning I was on the train and out of nowhere a crowd of ENORMOUS basketball players got on the train and pretty much crushed me. The guy next to me kept nearly elbowing me in the face, I nicely asked him to watch my head. He wasn’t very apologetic, in fact he was kind of a d**k about it. Then he decided to put me in his movie. So if you’d like to know if Lebron James is a d**k, we’ll this morning he was, and I hadn’t had my coffee yet. #unknowinggay
Angelo, who is both a real estate agent and stand-up comedian (making him pretty much the most Manhattan person ever) later spoke with FTW’s Charles Curtis about the episode.
He says he prefers tennis over basketball and thought the group of men wearing wine and gold sweats were a college basketball team. He tried minding his own business by continuing to listen to U2 on his headphones, but to no avail.
“They got on and they completely squished me and he was really unaware of his space,” Angelo told FTW, noting that LeBron’s elbows were flying like he was playing the post.
“It was first thing in the morning. I hadn’t finished my latte and I didn’t feel like being filmed. Plus, it’s not good lighting in the subway.”
Angelo seems to be having a good time with all of the attention and is trying to get the #canyounot hashtag (his verbal response to LeBron’s filming) trending.
“I had no idea who LeBron James was because I don’t watch football,” he joked in a video.
