NY military to discuss Hudson Valley building plan

NY military officials set to meet with public, detail plans for Hudson Valley maintenance yard

EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. (AP) -- New York military officials are set to detail plans for a new $23.9 million maintenance center planned for the Hudson Valley.

The state Division of Military Naval Affairs and Army National Guard will be at the East Fishkill town hall Monday evening to answer questions about the 75,000-square foot facility designed to maintain about 1,200 vehicles used by units from southeastern New York.

It would replace a facility built in about 1950 at the Camp Smith Training Site near Peekskill.

Officials say 50 technicians would work at the maintenance yard to be built in the Dutchess County town of Beekman, next door to the Green Haven Correctional Facility.

The information session will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Related documents are available on the DMNA website.
