Most people have no idea how many calories they drink for a reason: few booze bottles list nutritional facts on the label. In case you're wondering, here's a rough estimate of how many calories come in just about every kind of alcoholic beverage.

The actual nutritional facts may vary a bit based on brand and percentage of alcohol, and the serving sizes may fluctuate too – especially if your bartender has a heavy hand. (For the record: A standard shot is 1.5 fluid ounces, boozy cocktails are about 3.5 fluid ounces, and basic mixed drinks contain 8 fluid ounces, while a standard glass of wine should have 5 fluid ounces, and a beer has about 12 fluid ounces.)

Use this guide to put your alcohol options in perspective. And if you're counting calories? You'd be smart to round up - chances are, your drink contains extra ounces.
