Notre Dame College in South Euclid shutting down at end of spring semester
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (WJW) – Notre Dame College in South Euclid is shutting down at the end of the spring semester, the college confirmed Thursday evening.
In a news release sent to FOX 8, the school pointed out that declining enrollment, rising costs and significant debt led to the decision to end in-person academic instruction.

The Notre Dame College Board of Trustees said it secured agreements with nine partner colleges and universities to help current students continue their college careers as transfer students.

Cleveland State University
Hiram College
John Carroll University
Kent State University
Lake Erie College
Ursuline College
Walsh University
Mercyhurst University (Erie, PA)
Trustees said more partnerships could be announced by the end of the spring semester.
Notre Dame College is hosting a Partner College/University Fair for students on Wednesday, March 13. The fair will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Keller Gymnasium.

“Throughout this long process, we evaluated every possible option to continue the mission of Notre Dame College,” Board of Trustees Chair Terri Bradford Eason said in the media release. “Our primary focus has been to ensure our students can successfully continue their education, graduate, and – in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame – live a life of personal, professional and global responsibility.”
The college said it’s also offering support to help faculty and staff through their transition.
Notre Dame College was established in 1922.
South Euclid Mayor Georgine Welo released a statement, saying the decision, “comes as a profound loss to our community, marking the end of an era rich in academic excellence, tradition, and community engagement.”
