Notorious ‘Murder House’ In Los Angeles Goes Up For Sale For The First Time In 50 Years
This remarkable Spanish Revival mansion in sun-kissed Los Angeles is on the market for the first time in 50 years – but, be warned, it has a dark history.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom property sits near the city’s elevated Griffith Park, and thus offers incredible views. And it’s in surprisingly good nick.
But there’s one catch… the mansion is notorious, known locally as the Los Feliz Murder House.

Built in 1925, it is the property in which a cardiologist called Harold Perelson murdered his wife in their bed in December 1959.
The story has long been told, but its veracity has often been disputed. However, LA crime journalist Jeff Maysh dug up the case history last year.

He discovered the story to be true and that the doctor, after murdering his wife, Lillian, with a hammer, attempted to kill his teenager daughter, Judye.
She escaped while he told her two younger siblings to go back to bed. He then committed suicide.

The house was bought after the incident, but then abandoned by the owner – and has stayed that way for 50 years.
With its owner now dead, the property is back up for sale – and these pictures are believed to be the first time anyone has seen inside it for five decades.
The property is listed on website Realtor. The advert read: “First time on the market in over 50 years! Perched on a hill up a long drive way with sweeping views sits this 4 bedroom 3 bath Spanish Revival home on a large lot.
