Notices sent to Neb. companies about late reports

Neb. Sec. of State says 16,000 notices going out to business entities about late reports

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- The Nebraska Secretary of State's office says 16,000 notices are being sent to business entities that are past due in filing their annual and two-year reports.

The notices were sent to limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships and nonprofit companies.

The mandatory reports and feeds were due to the Secretary of State's office by April 1. Officials say a failure to meet the requirements by June 10 will result in a business being dissolved or having its certificate of authority revoked.

Secretary of State John Gale says a company that is dissolved loses its limited liability protection. Forms can be filed online at the Nebraska Secretary of State's website.
