Nothing Bundt Cakes nears opening in Santa Fe

Feb. 20—Nothing Bundt Cakes finally will open Feb. 25 at 524A W. Cordova Road, near Trader Joe's in the Coronado Center.

Gregg and Suzanne Hart moved to Santa Fe in June from Dallas as franchisees for Nothing Bundt Cakes, but permitting and tenant improvement challenges delayed the shop's opening.

Nothing Bundt Cakes, with more than 430 locations in 40-plus states, offers a dozen flavors of Bundt cakes at 8- or 10-inch sizes or tiered. Personal Bundt cakes called Bundtlets and smaller Bundtinis are sold by the dozen.

Suzanne Hart is a former flight attendant, and Gregg Hart was in oil, gas and real estate investment. The Harts have been married a year, but both have prior kids and grandkids.

"This is an opportunity for us to leave a legacy for our kids and grandkids," Gregg Hart said.

While the Harts may have only moved to Santa Fe in June, Gregg Hart said he has "spent a lot of time in Santa Fe going to Taos with my daughter for 40 years." Nothing Bundt Cakes first offered the Harts franchises in Oregon, Virginia and Florida.

"No, I want to go to the mountains," Gregg Hart said.

Nothing Bundt Cakes has two other New Mexico stores, in Albuquerque and Las Cruces.
