A note left in a Domino's Pizza box led to rescue of a kidnapped woman, police say
A note passed to a Domino's Pizza employee led to the rescue of a woman being held against her will, police said.
The woman was bound and gagged when law enforcement found her early Tuesday at a home in Chamberino, New Mexico, said Anthony, Texas, Police Chief Carlos Enriquez.
The rescue followed an investigation across the Texas-New Mexico state line.
The investigation began at about midnight Monday, when Anthony police were dispatched to a Domino's Pizza in Anthony, Texas.
A customer who came in to pick up a pizza had passed a note to a Domino's employee saying she was being held against her will by her husband, Enriquez said.

The couple went "to get something to eat. He allowed her to go inside to pick up the pizza and she was able to pass the information to the clerk," Enriquez said.
Anthony police learned the woman lived at a home about 8 miles away in Chamberino, Enriquez said.
Doña Ana County sheriff's deputies and police from Anthony, Texas, and Anthony, New Mexico, arrived at the home at about 1 a.m. Tuesday, the chief said.
Deputies entered the home and found the woman bound, gagged and beaten inside a room, Enriquez said.
The 32-year-old woman was crying and thankful for being rescued, Enriquez added. It was not known how long the woman had been held against her will, he said.

Doña Ana County deputies arrested Roberto Dominguez, 22, on domestic violence charges.
Dominguez will also face a kidnapping charge in El Paso County, Enriquez said.
"The officers didn’t take it (the note) as a joke and investigated it fully and because of their due diligence were able to rescue the woman and get her out of harm’s way," Enriquez said.
