That’s not Travis Kelce inside the Lovebird costume on ‘The Masked Singer,’ is it?

No way Travis Kelce is competing on “The Masked Singer” dressed as a giant, colorful bird.

Right?

The popular singing competition that puts celebrities inside elaborate, mascot-like costumes debuted Wednesday night with a new slate of 16 characters, including Goldfish, Gumball, Lizard, Ugly Sweater and Lovebird.

The colorful, portly parrot sang the feel-good song “Home” by “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips.

He sang it well.

Celebrity panelist Robin Thicke applauded him, saying Lovebird had “really beautiful tone, a great song choice for your voice. And I loved how you used the whole stage. You were hoppin’ around. You really tried to lift the energy up. Great job.”

Comedian Ken Jeong, another panelist, suggested that Kelce was hiding inside the feathery suit.

“When I think of hot leading men I think of Travis Kelce,” he said. “He had his own dating reality show, Catching Kelce, of which I was a big fan. I never missed an episode.

“But Travis has caught the eye of some amazing starlets, most notably Taylor Swift.”

Jeong’s comment and the video package full of clues that introduce each contestant inspired a guessing game online.

One eagle-eyed Chiefs fan on Facebook told fellow fans, “if you paid attention to the clues one of the photos had golden cleats in it.”

Fans of Kelce, and Swift, aren’t sure what to think. Other comments from that Chiefs fan page:

“It would be amazing if it is Travis, I just think he has a lot on his plate to commit to a show with multiple episodes. Maybe? Will be interesting to see.”

“The ‘Lover’ bird is the name of the bird. Taylor Swift has a song titled ‘Lover.’ It was also making the heart symbol with his hands like Travis and Taylor do.”

“Dr. Ken doesn’t have a very high record of getting them right, but I’m crossing my fingers on this one, I’m a KC girl, lived here all my life.”

“He’s sang a little on the podcast and it was decent. I think it’s a possibility. And why wouldn’t the show want him. He’s big time right now. I’d love it if it was him.”

“It would be amazing if it was him. I just don’t think he has had the time to do it. I was excited that Ken guessed him though. Travis Kelce is a household name!!”

“Travis is in Singapore with Taylor.”

But since this is a singing show, it’s really difficult to imagine the globe-trotting tight end hiding behind all those feathers, even though they are colors the flamboyant dresser has worn before.

Exhibit A: Lovebird crooning.

Exhibit B: Kelce wrecking “Friends in Low Places” at the Super Bowl rally last month. (Though Garth Brooks liked it.)

British singer-songwriter Rita Ora, a new judge on the show this season, said she didn’t know a lot about football, but “the only football player that I know is somebody that’s very easy on the eye, he was the lead of his own reality show, which makes me think leading man ... Odell Beckham Jr.”

R&B artist Ne-Yo won the competition last year as Cow. “The Dukes of Hazzard” actor John Schneider, aka Donut, slam-dunked second place.

“The Masked Singer” airs at 7 p.m. Wednesdays on Fox.
