It’s not even November but Walmart is already getting ready for Black Friday

Walmart is getting ready for the busy Christmas shopping season, and the company is well aware that plenty of shopping will be done online using mobile devices this Black Friday season. Walmart predicts this will be the most integrated holiday shipping season ever, forecasting more than 210 million visits to its mobile app. The company updated its iPhone and Android apps with new features to make shopping even more enjoyable and kicked off the first rollback deals that will kick off November 1st, several weeks ahead the busy shopping season ahead.

Walmart’s new mobile app features include Mobile Check-ins and Wish Lists. With Mobile Check-ins, users will be able to check in with their phone when arriving at a local Walmart store to pick up their online order. In-store order pick up is one feature Walmart said other rivals can’t offer, when explaining why it won’t drop the minimum on online orders for free shipping to below $50.

Wish Lists, meanwhile, let them build up wish lists on a phone using the Scan and Shop feature. Additionally, the app can be used to search for someone else’s Wish List. More details about Walmart’s new mobile app features are available at this link.

The first pre-Black Friday deals are also in, with Walmart ready to discount various gadgets. Even though they’re not cutting-edge devices, some of these deals might be worth checking out:

  • $199.99 Apple iPad mini 2 16GB WiFi on (was $268.00)

  • $299.99 RCA 48″ 1080p LED Smart HDTV (was $319.99; online only)
