Like It or Not, the Entourage Movie Is a Go

After six months -- or years, depending on how you count it -- of rumors and speculation, Warner Brothers gave the green light to a movie based on HBO's Entourage series on Tuesday night. At least according to Deadline New York, they did. According to the website's Mike Fleming Jr., the series' creator Doug Ellin both wrote the script and plans to direct the feature length film, while the studio is doing its best to cut the deals necessary to reassemble the old cast. Best case scenario, Adrian Grenier -- who also sort of confirmed the news of the upcoming movie on Twitter -- will return as the fresh-faced Hollywood star Vincent Chase, as will his bundle of buddies played by Jeremy Piven, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Dillon. There's no word yet on when the production will actually get started, though Mark Wahlberg -- one of the series' executive producers who also serves as the inspiration for Chase's character -- said last year that filming could begin as early as this spring. And what'll it be like? "[The movie is] going to get back to the basics, kind of like the beginning of the series," said Wahlberg last September. "We had very strong female characters, but we want the guys to get back to just being guys. … I think they were all weighed down by these strong women towards the end of the series, so we are going to get them going crazy everyone wants to see them get nuts again."

So apparently Warner Brothers is going to make a movie based on a show based on an actor and his friends that's going to avoid strong female characters and "get nuts." Can't wait.
