Norway mulls increasing military aid to Ukraine

Norwegian political parties are discussing the possibility of a "substantial" increase in long-term assistance to Ukraine, which could amount to $6.8 billion, Bloomberg reported on April 22.
According to Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, this expanded Norwegian aid program would last at least five years. The details are currently being discussed with Norwegian parliamentary leaders.
“We will discuss this with the parliamentary leaders but we’re talking about a significant increase,” said Eide.

He added that the military assistance would be provided over “at least five years,” with a possible extension of the program.
On April 15, Eide announced that Oslo is working to ensure that Ukraine receives more air defense systems, including NASAMS and Patriot batteries.
