Norway goes 1-2 in men's, women's cross-country World Cup

DAVOS, Switzerland (AP) — World Cup overall champion Martin Johnsrud Sundby of Norway won a 30-kilometer freestyle race and extended his lead in the overall cross-country standings on Saturday.

Johnsrud Sundby was 13.7 seconds faster than teammate Anders Gloeersen to get his 27th career World Cup win. Third-placed Matti Heikkinen of Finland was 25.7 back.

It was at Davos two years ago that Johnsrud Sundby violated doping rules, in a case that cost him the 2015 overall title. He served a two-month ban in the past offseason.

Earlier, Norway also went 1-2 in the women's 15-kilometer freestyle when Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg beat Heidi Weng by 7.9 seconds.

Oestberg is second in the overall standings and closed the gap on leader Weng.

Krista Parmakoski was third, 16.7 back, and is also third overall.
