The Norwegian government has committed to spend an additional $600 million in 2024 to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on April 30.

The president expressed his gratitude to Norway for its continued support.

"I am grateful to the Norwegian government under Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store for the decision to increase its support for Ukraine by $600 million this year," Zelenskyy said in a Twitter post.

He added that most of these funds will be used to strengthen Ukraine's air defense, which is key to protecting the civilian population from Russian air strikes.

“We appreciate Norway's unwavering support, understanding our urgent needs, and readiness to support us at the most critical time,” said Zelenskyy.

“Together, we are defending Ukraine and the rest of Europe from Russian terror.”
