Rogers School Board approves new zoning limits

ROGERS. Ark. (KNWA/KFTA)  — The Rogers School Board has given the green light to new zoning limits for the upcoming academic term.

Beginning next year, the boundary for Garfield School will shift into the Frank Tillery zone, relocating Garfield students to Tillery. This move will almost fill up Tillery’s enrollment capacity.

The district plans to rezone certain areas of Frank Tillery to other schools such as Eastside Elementary. Families affected by the new zone can maintain their current placement through the “grandfather clause.”

“If you had students attending a particular school, then you and your entire family had the option of continuing in that school for the rest of your school career,” Superintendent Dr. Jeff Perry said.

Families who opt to maintain their current school placements through the grandfathering process will be responsible for transportation since bus routes will be adjusted due to the boundary changes.
