Northrop gets 5-year NIH contract extension
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corp. said Friday that it received a five-year contract extension worth up to $30 million to provide research services to the National Institutes of Health.
Under the repeat contract, which the company has held since 2004, Northrop will provide computing and informational support to government researchers studying immune-system diseases.
The work will be performed primarily in Rockville, Md. Northrop Grumman's partners on the contract are the Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, Calif., and E-SAC, Inc. of Rockville.
Northrop Grumman Corp. shares rose 39 cents to $63.62 in afternoon trading.
