Switzerland was treated to a dazzling display of the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, early on Saturday (May 11).

Timelapses filmed from the Tour de Gourze, which are the ruins of a historical tower in Riex, showed pink and green hues dancing across the night sky over the city of Lausanne and Jura region in the distance.

The Northern Lights were also seen lighting up the night sky in Nottingham, England over Friday (May 10) and Saturday (May 11).

Timelapse footage posted on social media showed pink and green hues glowing over a residential area.
