Northern California Storm Brings Pre-Thanksgiving Snow

A winter storm brought snow and rain to parts of California and Arizona on November 26, forcing road closures and leading to transport disruptions in Thanksgiving week.

A Winter Storm Warning was in place for the Greater Lake Tahoe area until Thursday evening, November 28. The National Weather Service said travel could be “difficult to impossible” in the area.

Snowfall that started in the mountains moved to lower altitudes as the storm progressed on November 26. Interstate 80 near Lake Tahoe was closed, as a result of the storm.
