This northeast Georgia restaurant is one of the top seafood spots in the U.S., Yelp says
When you think of great seafood, you typically do not think of restaurants in inland cities. But one northeast Georgia spot made Yelp's Top 100 Seafood Spots 2024 list.
Atlanta Highway Seafood Market in Gainesville was ranked No. 61. in the U.S. for its seafood offerings. The restaurant has a 4.6-star ranking on Yelp, where the price and quality are both commonly praised among Yelp reviews.
According to the restaurant's website, founder Phoung Le was raised in Biloxi, Miss. and has the "desire to bring that taste and fresh seafood from the Gulf to the people of North Georgia."
"Fresh seafood is brought in at least 4 times a week, to always ensure freshness," according to Atlanta Highway Seafood Market's website. "The majority of our seafood is domestic and wild caught. We proud to support our fishermen in the Gulf and keep our sources in house."
Four other Georgia restaurants made the list, with three of them being on the coast. They are:
No. 8 Mr. Shuck's in Brunswick
No. 22 Albany Fish Company in Albany
No. 92 Chive Sea Bar & Lounge in Savannah
No. 93 Sundae Cafe at Tybee in Tybee Island
Best seafood restaurants in the U.S.
Using the seafood category and factors including volume and quality of Yelp user reviews, Yelp identified the top places for seafood across the nation. Yelp included a maximum of 10 businesses per state "for geographic diversity," according to its stated methodology.

10. Los Tortugo’s Seafood Market, Port Isabel, Texas
