North Texas woman pleads guilty in federal court to stealing $3.7 million from employer

A Mansfield woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to stealing $3.7 million from her employer in a wire fraud scheme, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.

Tanisha Adderley, 51, was accused of using her access to company funds from 2019 to 2023 to make false approvals and process wire payments to bank accounts she controlled, according to the news release.

The Department of Justice said that while working for a health and human services tech company that gave refunds to clients using wire transfers, Adderley had access to the money and was responsible for getting approvals and sending fee refunds.

Adderley now faces up to 20 years in federal prison, with sentencing scheduled for May 6, 2024.
