North Augusta Christmas Parade canceled due to inclement weather

Dec. 11—North Augusta's Christmas parade has been canceled.

In a press release sent by the Lions Club early on Dec. 11, the decision came due to inclement weather.

"The North Augusta Lions Club regretfully announces the cancellation of the Christmas Parade for Dec. 11 at 3 pm. We invite you to visit our Facebook page later this evening to view photos submitted by our participants," the release said.

In a Facebook post by the local service organization, the parade will not be rescheduled due to schedule conflicts. Parade organizers said the 2023 parade will continue with the "Christmas in July" theme.

"Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, participants and the City of North Augusta for supporting the efforts of the North Augusta Lions Club."

In lieu of the parade, the Lions Club is asking for parade photos for a social media slideshow. To send those in, email terra@northaugustachamber.org.

In addition to the cancellation of the North Augusta parade, the Aiken Christmas Parade has also been canceled due to inclement weather. That decision was announced by the Aiken Downtown Development Authority late Saturday night via Facebook.
