Nordstrom Rack is opening a new location in the Sacramento area.
The discount department store will occupy an 18,000-square-foot space at The Ridge shopping center in Elk Grove.
The new Nordstrom Rack location is scheduled to open its doors at 7430 Elk Grove Blvd. on May 2, according to its website.
The store will neighbor Club Studio, a fitness gym, and will be a few doors down from a Costco, according to The Ridge marketing brochure.
What is Nordstrom Rack?
Nordstrom Rack is the sister store to luxury department store Nordstrom.
The first Nordstrom Rack opened in 1973 as “a clearance center in the lower level of the downtown Seattle Nordstrom store,” according to its website.
It offers customers discounts of up to 70% off on clothes, shoes, accessories and home decor.
The retail chain currently has more than 350 stores across the United States
What is The Ridge at Elk Grove?
The Ridge shopping center at the intersection of Elk Grove Boulevard and Bruceville Road was developed by Pappas Investments.
“The Ridge shopping center’s success is due its location on the busy signalized intersection at Bruceville Road and Elk Grove Boulevard and its convenient access to both Interstate 5 and Highway 99,” Kelly Rule, Pappas Investments’ senior vice president and leasing director, told The Sacramento Bee in October.
The shopping center has more than 20 retailers and restaurants including Starbucks, Sephora, Amazon Fresh and Fleet Feet.
