Nordstrom appoints Intuit CEO as a board member

Nordstrom names Intuit CEO Smith as a director, expands board's size to 12 members

SEATTLE (AP) -- Luxury retailer Nordstrom said Wednesday that it has named Intuit CEO Brad Smith as a director, expanding its board to 12 members.

Smith has been the head of Intuit Inc., the maker of TurboTax and other personal finance software, since 2008.

Nordstrom Inc., based in Seattle, runs 248 stores in 33 states. The company now has nine independent directors.
