Noah Emmerich To Star In Netflix Limited Series ‘The Spy’ With Sacha Baron Cohen

The Americans standout Noah Emmerich has signed on to star opposite Sacha Baron Cohen in another undercover spy drama, Netflix’s six-episode limited series The Spy.

Written and directed by Gideon Raff, creator of the Israeli drama Prisoners of War on which Showtime’s Homeland was based, The Spy tells the story of legendary Israeli spy Eli Cohen (Baron Cohen). Eli Cohen lived in Damascus undercover in the beginning of the ’60s, spying for Israel. He managed to embed himself into Syrian high society and rise through the ranks of their politics until he was uncovered by the Syrian regime, sentenced to death and publicly hanged.

Emmerich will play Dan Peleg, a charming, rumpled and brilliant Mossad trainer. He is wise, wary and stubborn, and has a tendency to blur the boundaries between the personal and professional. He has conflicted feelings about Eli (Baron Cohen), and is tormented by a mistake he made in the past.

The Spy is produced by Légende Films and Alain Goldman. The series will debut globally on Netflix (outside of France), and on OCS in France.

Emmerich recently wrapped a six-season co-starring run as Stan Beeman on FX’s praised drama series The Americans, which is now airing its sixth and final season. The role has earned him a Critics Choice TV Award nomination. Emmerich’s TV series credits include recurring roles on Billions, The Walking Dead and White Collar. On the film side, he recently played Bill Hammond in Gavin O’Connor-helmed Jane Got A Gun.

Emmerich is repped by the Gersh Agency and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
