There's zero evidence tying Ukraine to the attack in Crocus City Hall near Moscow, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said on March 25.

Miller's comments came in response to a journalist's request to address Russia's baseless attempts to link the Crocus City Hall attack to Ukraine.

"There was no Ukrainian involvement – period," Miller said.  "You’ve seen the Ukrainian Government make that clear?  And of course, with respect to these statements the Russians have offered zero evidence, because there is no evidence of Ukrainian involvement."

Putin acknowledged on March 25  that the shooting at the Crocus City Hall mall was carried out by radical Islamists but still tried to connect the incident to Ukraine.

In response to these accusations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called Putin "a sick and cynical individual."

Shooting at Rus sia's Crocus City Hall

Several terrorists opened fire with automatic weapons on attendees at a concert hall in Crocus City Hall in the Moscow suburb of Krasnogorsk, where the band Piknik was set to perform.  139 people died, according to Russian authorities.

Russia claimed it detained those involved in the shooting. The FSB found a "Ukrainian trace" in the incident, alleging that the suspects were heading to cross the border into Ukraine, where they supposedly had contacts. This narrative is also being pushed by Putin and Russian propaganda.
