No survivors after Jefferson County plane crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — No one survived a plane crash near Madras Sunday evening, authorities said.

According to the Bonneville Power Administration, crews were sent out to investigate a power line that was relaying out of service and when they arrived they found a downed aircraft that had hit a static wire.

BPA crews said they immediately contacted authorities who responded to the scene.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash and shared that the plane had taken off from Aurora, Oregon and was headed to Idaho when the crash happened about 5 miles southeast of Madras.

Authorities said due to the extent of the crash, there were no survivors. Officials have not said how many people were on the plane.

The crash is still under investigation.
