No, This Is NOT the 2020 Ford Bronco (It's the "Baby Bronco" Crossover)

An image found by Off-Road.com on a public Ford website allegedly shows the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco in full-except it's not really the Bronco. This photo, taken at Ford's dealer meeting in Las Vegas last month, actually shows the "baby Bronco" crossover that is due to arrive soon.

Announced earlier this year, the "baby Bronco" has yet to be named, but we know it will be sized like the next-gen Escape crossover and ride on the same unibody platform, but with much boxier, rugged styling. From these three angles we can see a contrasting roof, an expressive face with round LED headlights and a large FORD script in the grille, and smooth side surfacing. Off-road-inspired styling bits like a large roof rack, red tow hooks at the front, and chunky all-terrain tires are visible, too. We also know that five of Ford's eight SUVs that will be on sale by 2020 will have a hybrid powertrain, with the real Bronco being one of them. It would make sense for this smaller crossover to get a hybrid variant, too, as it will likely share its other powertrains with the 2020 Escape, which will be getting a plug-in-hybrid model. As Ford will be marketing the baby Bronco as a much more off-road-oriented alternative to the Escape, all-wheel drive could come as standard.

This baby Bronco will go head-to-head with funkier crossovers like the Jeep Renegade, Subaru Crosstrek, and Toyota RAV4. While Ford hasn't said exactly when the new crossover will be revealed, it will be on sale by the end of 2020, and from this image, it looks pretty close to production. Look for it to debut some time in 2019, with prices likely starting around $25,000.
