No More Warnings: ‘Carolina Squat’ ban goes into effect Friday

SOUTH CAROLINA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A ‘Carolina Squat’ ban will go into effect on Friday after the state house passed a law last year.

A bill passed last May by the South Carolina House of Representatives bans the procedure, which lifts trucks four or more inches higher in the front than the back.

On Friday the South Carolina Department of Public Safety warned drivers that they will begin issuing citations on the prohibited vehicles.

The state house voted unanimously to ban the trucks.

The fines include $100 fines for the first offense and $200 fines for the second. A third would result in a suspended license.
