No injuries in semi rollover on I-75 Friday morning

CHEBOYGAN COUNTY — The Cheboygan County Sheriff's Department reported that no one was injured in a rollover accident involving a semi-truck on I-75 in Burt Township early Friday morning.

According to the crash report, the accident occurred at 2:50 a.m. on May 3 on northbound I-75 near mile marker 315. The Freightliner semi-tractor was being driven by a 35-year-old man from Lauderdale Lake, Florida when the driver lost control and ran off the roadway to the left. This caused the semi to tip onto its side, coming to a rest in the median.

The driver was not injured, and traffic on I-75 was narrowed down to one lane for several hours while the semi was moved.

The crash remains under investigation.
