No injuries reported after fire breaks out at Aurora restaurant

DENVER (KDVR) — No injuries were reported after a fire broke out in the kitchen of an Aurora restaurant Sunday morning, according to Aurora Fire Rescue.

The restaurant, Cora Faye’s Cafe located in the area of Colfax Avenue and Chambers Road, was not yet open at the time of the fire.

Fire crews responded and quickly extinguished the fire while searching for people who may have been trapped, according to AFR.

Quick action by fire crews prevented further damage and saved valuable memorabilia, family photos and artwork that was on display in the dining area, AFR said.

Fire investigators said the fire broke out in the kitchen area, but the cause could not be determined.

The business will stay closed for repairs following the fire, according to AFR.
