No classes Tuesday after power pole falls on school

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Skyway Elementary School in Cheyenne Mountain School District 12 will not have classes on Tuesday, May 7, after a power pole and power lines fell on a portion of the building during high winds on Monday.

According to the district, the power pole fell on the modular addition used for band at Skyway Park Elementary. Thankfully, no one was injured during the wind damage, however the district said it has experienced power outages, loss of networks, facility damage, downed trees, and damaged vehicles as a result of the high winds that ripped through the area Monday.
