NNPD to hold annual memorial ceremony Thursday, May 16

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Newport News Police Department (NNPD) will hold a memorial ceremony for fallen officers.

The event will honor the 12 NNPD officers who died in the line of duty as well as fallen officers from across the country.

Police Chief Steve Drew and a member of the Young Adult Police Commissioners will be on hand to provide remarks.

Newport News Police Pipes and Drums and the NNPD honor will perform during the event.

The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, 15553 Warwick Boulevard.
