NMSU baseball run-rule Prairie View A&M for fifth straight win

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KTSM) – New Mexico State baseball grabbed a 22-4 run-rule win over Prairie View A&M in the series opener at Presley Askew Field on Friday night.

Friday’s game was the third straight contest that New Mexico State has run-ruled its opponent. With the win, NMSU extended its winning streak to five games.

Mitch Namie went 4-for-6 with a homer, double, and four RBIs. Nick Gore also had a solid night at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs as well. Trey Meza (3-1) earned his third win of the season after a six-inning outing where he struck out six and allowed four hits along with two earned runs.

New Mexico State (7-6) and Prairie View A&M will go at it again in game two of the series on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. MT at Presley Askew Field on Saturday.
