New Mexico State, who currently holds a 6-9 record in CUSA play, looks to grab a win against FIU to boost its chances of finishing the regular season higher than 8th or 9th place in the league standings. If NMSU were to finish the regular season in 8th or 9th place, the team would have to participate in the Conference USA Tournament play-in game.
New Mexico State, led by Jason Hooten, heads into Saturday’s contest with some positive momentum after it snapped a six-game losing streak after the team collected its first road win of the season against Jax State last Saturday. NMSU fell to FIU in the first meeting of the season back on Jan. 11. FIU secured a 77-67 win over NMSU in Miami, Florida. New Mexico State will go for series split against the Panthers on Saturday.
Saturday’s game is also Senior Day for New Mexico State. The Aggies will honor Kaosi Ezeagu, Jonathan Kanyanga, and Jordan Rawls after the contest against FIU.

FIU heads into Saturday’s game hoping to get back into the win column. The Panthers are coming off an 83-76 loss to UTEP at the Don Haskins Center on Thursday night. FIU is the last place team in the CUSA standings as it holds a 10-20 overall record and 5-10 Conference USA record.
New Mexico State and FIU will go head-to-head at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Tipoff is at 2:00 p.m. MT. The game will stream on ESPN+.
