Nine-car crash involving Miami-Dade fire truck hospitalizes six people, reports say

A nine-car Opa-Locka crash, which involved a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue truck, sent six people to the hospital Thursday night, reports say.

At around 8:15 p.m., Opa-Locka police responded to the multi-car crash in the area of Northwest 27th Boulevard and Northwest 135th St., Opa-Locka Police Chief James Dobson said in social media posts.

Investigators told WSVN that the Miami-Dade fire truck involved in the crash was going to crash when it hit a car. Seven other cars crashed as a result. Police said two people were trapped inside a car and had to be extracted.

Six people were taken to local hospitals. Two were taken as trauma alerts.

All lanes northbound and southbound on Northwest 27 Ave. from Northwest 132 St. to Opa-Locka Boulevard were closed.
