Nikki Haley ends presidential campaign

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Nikki Haley has dropped out of the race for president following the Super Tuesday primaries, essentially sealing a Biden-Trump rematch in November.

Haley made the decision to suspend after a dismal performance, managing to win only one primary.

That one win for Haley was the state of Vermont.

Former president Donald Trump won all of the other Republican primaries.

Now with Haley out, Trump is all but guaranteed a spot as the presumptive GOP nominee for president.

President Joe Biden won all of the democratic state primaries, except for the territory of American Samoa.

Biden’s surprise loss there was to a previously unknown democratic businessman who lives in Baltimore.

All this means the country, barring some bizarre, unforeseen circumstance is on track for a Biden-Trump repeat later this year.

Despite that, polling shows most Americans don’t want that to happen.

During her remarks Haley notably did not endorse Trump, calling instead for him to earn the votes of those who did not vote for him in the primaries.

“It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him. At its best politics is about bringing people into your cause. Not turning them away,” she said.

Biden and Trump will become the official nominee later this year at their parties’ conventions.
