Former president Donald J. Trump and former ambassador Nikki Haley, now both candidates for the Republican nomination for president, made Virginia appearances in recent days.

Nikki Haley spoke to supporters on Thursday, Feb. 29 in Richmond.

On blowing up the national debt being not just Biden's fault: "Donald Trump and the Republicans did that to us, too."

On overspending during Trump and Biden years: "It is finally time we had an accountant in the White House."

On abortion and saying a national abortion ban is not likely: "I respectfully think the fellas don't know how to talk about this." and "No more demonizing this issue. We have to humanize this issue."

Trump spoke to supporters on Saturday, Mar. 2 in Richmond.

On Super Tuesday: "We don’t need your vote."

On the importance of winning Virginia in the general election: "We’re gonna make a big play for Virginia. We win Virginia, we win at 100%. It’s over. The election is over."

On the general election: "The biggest day in the history of our country is November fifth!"

On the border: "This is Joe Biden’s invasion."
